Youth Work Ireland Tipperary is a registered charity and voluntary
youth work organisation. YWIT is leading provider of youth work
programmes and services to young people in Tipperary. Applications are
now invited from suitably qualified persons for the following post.

JOB TITLE: Resettlement Support Worker ? Tipperary Refugee
Resettlement Project

The purpose of this job is to implement the Tipperary Refugee
Resettlement project, working as a team member to support refugee
families who have been displaced by the conflict in Syria to resettle
in Co Tipperary. The Resettlement Support Worker will implement the
project bearing in mind the aims, objectives and ethos of Youth Work
Ireland Tipperary, and will work within the community to develop and
deliver programmes and supports for families who are part of this
initiative. There are two resettlement support workers who will work
jointly to implement this project.

THE RESETTLEMENT SUPPORT WORKER WILL:

* Work as part of a team to develop the provision of quality supports
to the Syrian families who will be resettlement in Co Tipperary. This
will involve a range of supports meeting the needs of the different
families and age groups and will operate through a person centred
approach.
* Have a role in motivating, encouraging and facilitating refugees
to live independently.
* ensure that children are linked with key groups and services in
resourced communities.
* identify other resources that will promote the long term
integration of the group.
* not replace mainstream service provision but should identify where
gaps arise and should guide the refugee in how to access mainstream
services.
* Implement the project workplan through three phases, short term
post arrival supports, medium term monitoring, empowerment and
emergency assistance and long term community development, monitoring
and reporting.
* 'Given the young age profile of refugee communities under the
Irish Refugee Protection Programme, (Children?s Rights Alliance,

integrated manner across the work of YWI Tipp, family support services
and partnership networks.
